Students who need to ride the Activity bus to attend a club or participate in a training session for an offseason sport are REQUIRED to sign up for the activity bus on the day you plan to ride and you should ride on bus # 321 or bus #332.
Just a reminder that you need to complete your elective choices for your next year’s schedule by this Friday, March 24th. If you have any questions, please see a teacher in the department of interest or your counselor. Directions on how to enter elective choices and alternatives were posted on Schoology and sent to parents/guardians via email last week.
The end of marking period 3 is Friday, March 31 which is only 10 more school days! Be sure you are working hard to complete all assignments and make up any missing tests or quizzes before the end of the marking period! Finish strong!
CV9 March Madness Bracket Play has been narrowed down to the Elite Eight, with 4 teams representing CV9 RED and 4 teams representing CV9 WHITE. Which two Freshman Seminar Rooms will be playing for the donuts? March Madness resumes for all Freshman Seminar Rooms this Wednesday, March 22nd as we also continue our CV9 RED vs. CV9 WHITE Challenge with Workout Gear and Trivia Day. After our first two weeks of Spirit Days, CV9 RED is dominating with 49% of its students participating vs. CV9 WHITE 39%.”

March Madness continues this Wednesday and the following SWEET SIXTEEN Freshman Seminar Rooms are competing against one another in a College Gear Day Spirit Challenge.
Remember, even if your Freshman Seminar Room lost in the first round of Spirit Neon Day bracket play, your weekly Spirit percentage still accumulates towards our CV RED vs. CV WHITE Challenge, so please remind everyone to wear their favorite College Gear and be a part of the fun. CV RED holds the lead after week one of competition.

Thank you to everyone who donated and participated in CV Mini-THON as this year-long fundraising efforts raised over $320,000 to be donated to Four Diamonds! Special thanks to Miss Hunter who served as our school’s liaison and helped with communication and registration efforts at CV9. If you are interested in serving on a committee next year, information will be shared about this process in mid April through Schoology.

Late Buses
Today is blue out day and this afternoon we will be heading to the CV10-12 campus to enjoy the CVminiTHON Pep Rally.
Today will be a modified schedule. The periods for today are as follows: 1,2,3,4,8,5,6,and 7. After period 7, all students will report to Freshman Seminar class. Your Freshman seminar teacher will inform you what bus you will be riding. The buses will be numbered 1-16. Your Freshman seminar teacher will escort you to your bus and take attendance.
Transitioning to the Pep rally
Students are expected to follow the bus code of conduct as you would on your regular bus.
It is important to take your backpack and belongings with you. We will not be coming back to CV9 after the pep rally. Your regular bus will take you home from the CV10-12 campus.
The buses will be dropping off students at the Performing Arts Center (PAC) . When the buses arrive , your bus driver will keep you on the bus until 12:40 PM. Once dismissed from the bus, Staff will be there to greet you as you exit the bus and will direct you to the Dome Gymnasium and to your seat in the bleachers. Please listen to their instructions to be seated.

Tomorrow, Friday, March 10, we will have a modified bell schedule as we will travel to the high school for the CVminiTHON Pep Rally.. The order of periods are (periods 1,2,3,4,8 5,6,7, Freshman Seminar) All students will be bussed from CV9 to CVHS. Your regular school bus will transport you home from the high school as we did for the homecoming and winter sports pep rally. It is a blue out, so wear your blue to support miniTHON. Face paint is not permitted. Your freshman seminar teacher will escort you to your assigned bus on Friday and further details will be shared on Friday.
Remember, if you did not register today for the CVminiTHON event, you can register the night of THON but must have your permission form completed and signed along with your payment.

The purpose of this assembly is to cultivate opportunities for girls who are interested in career opportunities such as analyzing big data regarding social media trends and much more. Period 8 will be shortened by five minutes. A PA announcement will be made for dismissal to period 9. All girls will report directly to the auditorium. All boys will report to their period 9 Eagle Academy classroom. Students at the assembly will be dismissed from the auditorium to the buses so bring your backpack to the assembly..
Student/Class Council welcomes you to our 1st Annual March Spirit Madness. For the next 4 Wednesdays of March our 37 Freshman Seminar Rooms will be competing to be the “Most Spirited” in Single Elimination Bracket Play with the Final 2 Rooms winning donuts. The brackets are posted on both the Student Council wall by the Auditorium and the wall by the cross over restrooms. Check out the brackets to see who your Freshman Seminar Room will be competing against in the first week’s challenge next Wednesday, March 8, which is NEON DAY in celebration of THON.
And in case your Freshman Seminar Room gets “out spirited” and loses in head-to-head play, remember that your Freshman Seminar’s overall spirit participation percentage for all four Wednesdays will earn points for its CV9 color, RED or WHITE.”

As we continue to celebrate Black History Month, today during your World HIstory class, you will be learning about Mt. Tabor Church in Mount Holly Springs PA.
Tonight is an information session about Course Selection planning for parents and students. The presentation begins at 7:30 p.m for all future 10-12th graders in the Performing Arts Center at Cumberland Valley HIgh school. In addition, from 6:30 to 8:30 PM there will be a Club/Special Programs Fair & Department Supervisors will be available to answer questions.
Freshman Seminar will be held tomorrow during period 9 and the lesson will focus on stress management.

Here are the final results for last weeks Souper bowl Food Drive for Project Share of Carlisle. The Eagle Academy Donation All Stars are students in the following rooms: Mrs. Bowers, Mr. Hoffman, Mrs. Hewlett, Mrs. Sior, Mrs. Pickering and Mrs. Anderson´s rooms.
The overall competition goes to RED TEAM. They won the competition with 232 cans! Thanks to everyone who participated!

Students, we are offering ONE MORE WEEK to request a replacement Student ID card. If you have NOT already requested a new ID and don't have one AT ALL (including ones from previous school years), please stop in at the Library desk to put your name on the list for a new one. The deadline to request a new ID is NEXT THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 16th. After that date, you will be charged $2 for an ID replacement. ALL HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS are expected to carry their IDs with them at all times. IDs are REQUIRED for CV9 Library access. Remember, you are encouraged to take a CLEAR photo of your Student ID card with your phone camera. The attendance scanners can read the digital image.

The room you donate to earns the points, so be sure to go to your Freshman Seminar teacher!
One last thing, be sure to check expiration dates on the can goods you bring to school. Expired canned goods will not be accepted.

Tomorrow, is the the beginning of Black History Month. There will be a series of videos that we will be sharing with you throughout this month. The theme for BHM this year is “The Stories Around us.” The purpose is to explore and better understand the connections to our local community in central Pennsylvania and the importance of these stories in the greater narrative of who we are. Tomorrow, after the morning announcements, your teacher will share the first, introductory video.

This upcoming Wednesday, February 1, will be the final day of CV9 Clubs for semester 1. During this period, you will also have the opportunity to select a new club for semester 2. On Tuesday, during Eagle Academy there will be a meeting for all students who are attending the upcoming Ski Club trip. You must report to your period 9 Eagle Academy classroom first. A PA announcement will be made to dismiss you the auditorium.

Period 8 will be shortened by 10 minutes today. All students will report to their Freshman seminar period 9 class today! There will be no structured study hall today and those students should report to their freshman seminar period 9 class as well.
Teachers will take attendance at the beginning of freshman seminar and those assigned to the assembly will escort their class to the assembly.

We will be having a modified schedule today. The periods for today are as follows: 1,2,3,4,8,5,6,and 7. After period 7, all students will report to Freshman Seminar class. Your Freshman seminar teacher will inform you what bus you will be riding. The buses will be numbered 1-16. Your Freshman seminar teacher will escort you to your bus and take attendance.
Transitioning to the Pep rally
Students are expected to follow the bus code of conduct as you would on your regular bus.
It is important to take your backpack and belongings with you. We will not be coming back to CV9 after the pep rally. Your regular bus will take you home from the CV10-12 campus.
When the buses arrive at the CV10-12 bus loop, your bus driver will keep you on the bus until 12:40 PM. Once dismissed from the bus, staff members will be there to guide you to the Dome gymnasium and show you where to sit in the bleachers.

Afternoon Announcements Period 9
When the buses arrive at the CV10-12 bus loop, your bus driver will keep you on the bus until directed to let you off the bus. Only band members will be permitted off the bus upon arrival. Once dismissed from the bus, staff members will be there to guide you to the Dome gymnasium and show you where to sit in the bleachers. I If you are a Winter sport varsity athlete, you will follow your classmates but report to the cafeteria, right across from the gym, to meet your team.
Please be respectful during the pep rally when people are speaking and during performances.
Exiting the Pep rally
At the end of the pep rally, 9th grade students will be dismissed first. You will be guided to the CV10-12 bus loop and will board your regular bus. The buses will be parked in the same pattern as they do at CV9. You will be transported home from the CV10-12 campus. It is important to know your bus number. If you do not remember, you can look your bus number up in Skyward, ask a teacher, or come to the main office for help.
Students who walk to school and who live in Good Hope farms, will ride bus 305 home. If parents are picking you up after the pep rally, you will walk to the parent pick up area and staff will be there to assist where to go.
Student-athletes who have practice after school will stay at the high school and report to the cafeteria until 3:00 when the high school dismisses.
Junior High wrestlers will report to the athletic office at the high school in order to meet Coach Chamberlin who will be driving you back to CV9 for practice.

All grade levels have been assigned to wear a specific color for the pep rally, and freshmen are encouraged to wear black on Friday. Face paint is not permitted. Your freshman seminar teacher will escort you to your assigned bus on Friday and further details will be shared on Friday.
