Cumberland Valley High School Soaring Eagles

The SOARING EAGLES program honors a male and female student from each grade level each month. Faculty, staff, and students can nominate students who are deserving of distinction. A student can be nominated for reasons including, but not limited to, positive attitude, noteworthy service, marked improvement, great attendance, impressive effort, academic achievement and constant excellence. Criteria for the award is intentionally vague as a way to broaden the number of potential nominees. The spirit of the award is to recognize a variety of students for a variety of accomplishments. Nominations are reviewed by a grade-level selection team of administrators, guidance counselors and teachers. 

The SOARING EAGLES program would like to thank the Eagle Foundation for providing a scholarship opportunity to two graduating seniors. Each year the Eagle Foundation will award the Soaring Eagles Scholarship to graduating Cumberland Valley High School seniors who have been designated and recognized as a Soaring Eagle at any point throughout his/her high school tenure. The scholarship will be a one-time award in the amount of $2,500. The scholarships will be awarded during the Senior Night Awards ceremony in May in the form of a check made payable jointly to the student and academic institution. The scholarship money must be used for tuition payment to an accredited educational institution (two or four-year college or university, or a vocational or technical school) within one year of the award. The scholarship is character-based and will be awarded based on the application, letters of recommendation, required essay, and other relevant factors. This scholarship has been made possible through a generous gift by The Mechanicsburg Club to help further higher education.
